It’s Tips for Tuesday!
This week’s tip: Use a basic glaze when decorating cookies!
My favorite way to decorate cookies is to make a basic glaze. It is super simple and can be made in minutes. It also gives you a variety of decorating options and is very forgiving. The next time you have cookies to decorate, give it a try!
2 1/2 tsp. liquid (water, milk, lemon or lime juice, etc.)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
The sky is the limit when decorating:
- Use the glaze as is and create a translucent white topping.
- Dye the glaze with food coloring.
- Use the glaze as the ‘glue’ to adhere colored sugar, sprinkles, or non-parallels.
Mix the liquid and powdered sugar together. Use a food safe paint brush or pastry brush to apply the glaze. Adjust the glaze consistency if needed, by adding a little liquid or powdered sugar.
This is a super simple way to decorate cookies and add wow to your creations. I will have a delicious cookie topped with glaze on Thursday, so stay tuned 🙂
