Tzatziki (Greek Cucumber Yogurt Sauce)

Tzatziki

I know this isn’t very fallish of me, but I had to share my tzatziki recipe. šŸ˜€Ā  I have been making this a lot lately and just can’t get enough.Ā  You can still find wonderful cucumbers in the store, so why not?Ā  For those of you that aren’t familiar with tzatziki, it is made of cucumbers, Greek yogurt, and garlic.Ā  It is traditionally made with dill, but not for this girl.Ā  Dill can be so overpowering, and I enjoy the other flavors too much.Ā  It is a versatile and delicious dip/sauce and is very healthy.Ā  It is great on salads and sandwiches, and paired with chicken or beef.Ā  It is also a delicious dip for chips, pita bread, or raw veggies. I love it spooned on top of broccoli, yes broccoli!Ā  It is a delicious combo that I stumbled upon one day.Ā  It can also be used as a salad dressing.Ā  For anyone watching their calories, it is a great alternative to adding more fatty accompaniments, like cheese or dressings.Ā  I hope you all enjoy my version of this classic Greek sauce/dip!

Try it on my Greek Salad Sandwich.

I am excited to bring this to Fiesta Friday #138 (your hosts this week are Mollie of The Frugal Hausfrau and Johanne of French Gardener Dines) and Throwback Thursday #55!

I love this and make it all the time. I like to serve it with olives, hummous and pittas, with some Aleppo pepper flakes sprinkled on top.

This sounds wonderfully refreshing Antonia! We’ve been having a bout of hot weather (85 degrees today) so it still feels much like summer here! Hope all is well with you!

I love Tzatziki and make it often. I add mint to it, instead of dill, but also like the version without herbs, like you have here. It’s so refreshing and goes so well with many foods. šŸ™‚

It looks delicious, Antonia, and your suggestion of serving it with broccoli sounds perfect. I love broccoli – but only with a sauce, and this sounds the better alternative.

Thanks Millie! I decided to try it one day and was amazed at how well it paired. It’s my favorite way to eat broccoli, although I like it with olive oil and salt too.

I just love tzatziki, Antonia I am drolling over that mediterranean salad sandwich. That looks so good with the sauce. If only I could eat bread.

Me too, I could eat it everyday. Thank you for the kind words! I didn’t realize you had given up bread. Is it just for now? I have done that before on diets, and it is so hard.
