Three Day Quote Challenge – All on One Day!

I was excited to be nominated again for the Three Day Quote Challenge, this time from Millie Thorn.  She has just published her second book and has a very cool and interesting blog.  If you haven’t already,  check out her blog!  Thank you for the nomination Mille!  This is such a fun challenge and really enables you to do something different.  I have decided to take a slightly different approach this time, and share all of my quotes on one day.  I hope it is OK that I am doing things a little different!

My first quote is from the song Cornerstone, by Bob Marley.  I have always loved this song and this quote struck a chord with me from an early age.  I often think of it when I am interacting with people or making important decisions.

My second quote is from Aristotle.  He wrote a lot about happiness and although this may not be a clearly translated quote, I just adore it.  I strongly believe in the premise that you make your own destiny and you should take care to ensure you are happy.  Nobody else can do this for you.

My final quote is from Thomas Edison.  This is a great life’s lesson quote.  Never give up because you have not accomplished what you have wanted to the first time or how you thought you might.   I love quotes that reinforce the idea of never giving up and always thinking positive.

I hope you have enjoyed my quotes, and I am sorry I am bending the rules a bit 😉  I have a few time constraints, but wanted to participate.  My nominees for this challenge are below (please do not feel obligated to participate).

Natascha from Natascha’s Palace

Trupti from My Culinary Saga

Anita from AnitaCuisine

Rules of the challenge:

1 – Thank the blogger that nominated you.

2 – Share one new quote on three consecutive days on your blog. They can be from anyone, anything or anywhere.

3 – On each of the three days, nominate three more bloggers to carry on the fun! No pressure; nominees are free to decline.

You aren’t bending the rules, really, Antonia. Many people do the three quotes all at once, some people choose to do them one a week. This Quotes Challenge was the first one I’ve had been nominated for that asked for either one or three each day! I was a glutton for punishment and did three every day – nine quotes in all. What you’ve done is fine. We all do what we can fit in at the time:)
You’ve found three great quotes. The first one made me think about the kind of things people could refuse that they should use.I suppose we could include abstract things in this, like kindness and generosity. Physical help also comes to mind. How often do we say we can manage on our own when, in actuality, a helping hand would be very useful?
The second quote is very true. Life is what we make it! We can choose to be positive and happy, or negative and miserable. We can follow our ambitions no matter what, or give up at the first hurdle.
I love the last one. To me it tallies with the saying ‘Try and try again’. No matter how many ways don’t work, just keep trying and you’ll get there in the end.
Thank you for accepting the challenge again, Antonia. I know it isn’t long since you did the last one. 🙂

Thanks Millie, you made me feel better 🙂 I really enjoyed your quotes and how you shared a different topic each day. The first quote is one of my favorites and you are right, you can include about anything. I like your thought about physical help and it is very true that when someone offers help we are quick to say no thank you. It is definitely something we should all think about. My 7 year old recently read a book about Thomas Edison and it was so interesting. His attitude, focus, and hard work resulted in such amazing life changing inventions. If only we could all be like that. I am so glad that you enjoyed my quotes and I had fun thinking about what I wanted to do. You are welcome and thank you for nominating me!

Such inspiring quotes Antonia! I love the one about failure- it’s so easy to get down on yourself when something doesn’t work the first time… or the second… or the third. It’s all about perseverance until you find a way that it does work! Excellent Tuesday morning motivation 🙂
