It’s Tips for Tuesday!
This week’s tip: Make a special syrup the next time you have pancakes or waffles!
Although my family loves their maple syrup, they also like to be adventurous sometimes. I enjoy making different syrups out of maple syrup and honey for them. Since orange season is coming to an end, I thought it would be fitting to make an orange inspired syrup. The orange and honey make a wonderful combination, and bring something special to the breakfast table. It takes minutes to make and is oh so delicious!
1 cup clover honey
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (1 to 2 oranges)
zest of 1 orange
Squeeze the orange juice and strain. In a pan over medium heat, stir the orange juice and honey until the honey is dissolved. Stir in the zest and let simmer for about 10 minutes (before using, strain the zest out of the syrup if desired). You can use immediately or store in the fridge for several days. Warm before using for best results. Enjoy!
This syrup is perfect for entertaining or for a special Easter breakfast. I will have a delicious pancake recipe on Thursday that will go perfectly with this syrup!
