apple fritters main

Apples are such an amazing fruit.  They are delicious, crunchy, juicy, and so healthy they have their own popularized adage (an apple a day keeps the doctor away).  They are also amazing in desserts!

One of my favorite apple desserts has to be apple fritters.  I don’t mean an overly sweetened doughnut with little pieces of apples.  I like more of a play on traditional fritters, which provide a wonderful balance between tasting the fruit and having dessert.  Traditional apple fritters are basically slices of apples battered and fried.  I have created an extra crunchy panko crusted pan-fried version, topped with a delicious cinnamon syrup.  These fritters are unique, crunchy, delicious, and you can really taste the apple.  Happy September everyone 🙂

I did a bit of a comedy double take when I saw this recipe as I was scrolling down my feed! These sound AMAZING! I’m a big fan of all things coated in breadcrumbs and fried, but when you add apple and cinnamon into the mix – well you just blew my mind! Can’t wait to try them 🙂

Love the use of panko. I love the extra crunch idea. Definitely something my boys would go for. I will have to remember this after our next apple picking adventure.
